Rital and Ritag Gaboura were conjoined twins born in Sudan in 2010. Joined at the top of their heads (a rare condition called craniopagus), their survival was miraculous.
In 2011, a surgical team at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital lead by Professor David Dunaway and Mr Owase Jeelani, performed a series of four complex, life-saving operations to successfully separate the sisters.
